Since the Taliban`s return to power in 2021, FTD-N has implemented three rounds of this project across four provinces in Afghanistan, reaching 120 female legal professionals.
Objective
To build the capacity of female legal and human rights specialists, advancing women`s rights and improving access to justice in four provinces.
Key Activities
Professional Development: Online courses in human rights, laws and regulations, community research, and alternative dispute resolution.
Legal Consultations Personalized, one-on-one mentorship for legal counselors navigating and supporting cases in their communities.
Research and Reporting Community-led research and documentation of ongoing human rights violations—particularly those affecting women—to bolster access to justice.
Expected Outcomes
A sustainable network of women`s rights advocates operating inside Afghanistan.
Improved access to high-quality legal support for women and families.
Evidence-based insights to challenge discriminatory policies and inform national and international advocacy.
